Couples Therapy & Relationship Counseling
High-pressure careers can place real strain on relationships.
I specialize in couples therapy for partners navigating:
Communication breakdowns
Emotional disconnection
Work-life imbalance
Major life transitions
Growing a family and navigating the transition to parenthood
Rebuilding trust after betrayal
Premarital counseling
Discernment counseling when partners are uncertain about the future of their relationship
Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help couples in San Francisco, throughout the Bay Area, and across California understand the patterns that keep them stuck, strengthen emotional connection, and build relationships that can last.
For couples who are unsure whether to stay together, I also offer discernment counseling—a focused approach that helps partners gain clarity about whether to continue working on the relationship, separate, or move toward divorce.
I work with people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures.
Can You
Relate?
Couples Therapy Is for You If…
You love each other, but you’re caught in patterns you can’t seem to change.
You’re ready to understand what’s really happening between you.
You’re willing to look honestly at the patterns you each bring to the relationship—and explore what you can do differently.
I work with couples who are ready to:
Break out of recurring conflict and disconnection
Understand the deeper emotions and needs beneath the surface
Take responsibility for their part without getting stuck in blame
Rebuild trust, intimacy, and connection
Create a relationship that feels more honest, secure, and alive
Drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), I help couples move beyond simply managing conflict toward meaningful, lasting change.
How It Works
FAQ’s
-
Couples therapy is different because the relationship itself becomes part of the work.
Rather than focusing primarily on one person’s experiences, we look at what happens between you: the patterns you get caught in, how you respond to one another, what you’re each longing for, and what makes it difficult to feel understood and connected.
You’ll have the opportunity to speak openly, hear your partner in a different way, and learn new ways of responding to each other.
My goal isn’t to decide who is right or wrong. It’s to help you understand what’s happening between you—and create the possibility for something different.mollit anim id est laborum.

My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), with an understanding of attachment and the ways past experiences can shape how we relate to one another. I help couples understand the patterns they are caught in, move beyond blame, and develop more empathetic, connected, and respectful ways of relating.
I believe meaningful change happens when couples are willing to slow down, understand what is really happening between them, and take an honest look at what each person can do differently.

There is no set timeline. Every couple comes to therapy with different needs and goals. Some couples benefit from a few months of focused work, while others choose to continue longer to address deeper patterns, attachment wounds, or longstanding relationship challenges.
Consistency matters. Couples therapy tends to be most effective when sessions are regular and the work continues between sessions. For couples who need more focused support or have limited time, I also offer couples therapy intensives, allowing us to dedicate more concentrated time to the relationship.
We’ll regularly assess how therapy is progressing and what feels most useful for you and your relationship.
