POLICIES AND FEES

Please contact me to discuss fees, as my rates vary for different services. I offer a limited number of sliding scale fee slots to individuals and couples that would not otherwise be able to afford therapy. Sliding scale fees are based on your household income.

Psychotherapy is usually partially covered by health insurance. Please call your insurance company directly to verify coverage for out-of-network providers. I am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

CANCELLATION POLICY

As frequent cancellations interfere with our work and my schedule, please avoid missing session whenever feasible.

If you cannot make your normal time, I will try to reschedule you to another time that week or an additional time the following week.

If you need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, please notify me at least a week prior to our session. 

The fee will be charged for missed or rescheduled sessions without such notification.

PHONE CALLS

I have office hours Monday through Thursday from 10am to 6pm. If you need to contact me between sessions, you may reach me at 415-741-3392. I am  often not immediately available, however, I check my voicemail several times a day and can usually, but not always return your communication within the same day. If I am not able to that day, I will respond to you within 48 hours during the business week and up to one business day during the weekend. 

If our in between session phone calls last longer than 15 minutes, the call may be filed as though it is a 50 minute session. If we are having frequent check-ins I may suggest that we increase the frequency of our sessions. 

If an emergency situation arises, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room or call the 24 hour Crisis Line at 1-800-309-2131. 

MISSED SESSIONS/NO SHOWS/LATE ARRIVALS

If you re going to be more than 10 minutes late to a session, please call, text or email me to let me know you will be late or not coming. If you do arrive late, we will end on time to preserve the following person's full session time. If I have not heard from you in 10 minutes from our scheduled start time, I may assume you are not coming, and may leave the session. I charge the full rate of your session for a no-show or late cancellation.
